How to get started
------------------
This is an MS-DOS program that requires complete control of the
machine for precise timing. You must completely exit out of
Microsoft Windows before running it. It will not transmit or
receive properly if run from an MS-DOS Prompt window.
Create a new directory and copy all the files to the directory.
For example, if your floppy disk drive is A,
CD \
MKDIR SSTV
CD SSTV
XCOPY A:*.*
If you already have an SSTV/WEFAX interface connected, run
EZSSTV then press the Enter key or click on the Recv button.
If you don't have an interface yet, or run into problems
receiving, read HARDWARE.TXT and POWER.TXT.

* Trident 8900 lies about capabilities.
Description:
It seems that there are different variations of the Trident TVGA
8900. Most are capable of 32K simultaneous colors and work fine
with the Pasokon TV software. There have been a couple reports
that colors are quite strange.
We found that the VESA-standard method of determining the display
modes available produced incorrect information. Specifically,
when running the included VGAINFO program, the VGA card claimed
to have 32k color (mode 110H) capability when it did not. Another
Trident-specific program revealed that the hardware was capable
of only 256 colors.
Work-around:
Put this line in the PKTV.CFG file:
GMODE 101
This will force 256 color mode instead of trying to use a
capability which really isn't there.
Again, I repeat, most Trident TVGA 8900 display adapters work fine
at 640 x 480 with 32K colors. Perhaps it is just a few older ones
that lie about their capabilities.
There was ONE report (second hand from a friend of the owner of
the machine) that a TVGA 8900 would operate only in graphics mode
13H (320 x 200 resolution) with Pasokon TV. Solution: contact
Trident and demand a VESA driver that will make their hardware
work with well established industry standards.

This still might not be right.
